How to Sleeveface

As a teenager, I remember sitting for hours in front of my turntable listening to vinyl records and pouring over the incredible artwork and reading the album covers or sleeves.

It’s been argued that vinyl records possess a fidelity and warmth of sound that can’t be matched by any digital medium, but all would agree that the artwork rocked. I used to spend hours in the record store pouring over the amazing artwork. And nothing can match the olfactory memories of pulling a vinyl record from it’s sleeve and the sound of a needle drop.

A clever bunch of vinyl lovers from the UK have taken this relic of days past and elevated it to a new art form. One that is both fun and creatively challenging. It’s hard not to smile. I bet you’ll be looking for a vintage record shop near you to have your own sleeveface fun after watching this video. As they say in the UK…Crack On!

That was truly entertaining. Thanks for sharing. I use to have a small collection of vinyl, but it went for $2 a record at a yard sale. Some things are gone forever. I have yet to to i-pod, so I guess I’m still stuck somewhere in the middle.
