Karra and Paul | McMenamins Crystal Ballroom Wedding

It’s hard to believe that the weather can change so much in one week. The past few days have been downright chilly. Yet last weekend, when Karra and Paul were married, everyone was feeling the record-breaking heat. The ceremony and reception venues both lacked air conditioning, but even that could not take away from the…

Great photo’s Randy!

That looks like a seriously fun wedding party! I love your assistant’s great capture during your formals. Moments like that captured in the camera last forever.

Great work as always!

Mat! Thanks for stopping by and for the comments. Yes, the wedding party was seriously rocking. I wish we had more time to work with them. Weddings are always a roller coaster with time, you never get as much as you want and it goes so fast.

Great to see you here.

Yassas! (Hello in Greek)

We are home now and absolutely love what we see with our photos so far and can’t wait to see the way you captured all of the events that transpired on our wedding day. We are so truly blessed to have the family and friends that we do…and they definitely ROCK!

And way to go Kristen…we knew she would find some great shots in her super ‘stealth’ mode that she has!

Thanks again!

Welcome home Karra and Paul! You guys will have to share photos from your Greek experience. While you’re here, can you tell me what the heck you guys were drinking at Ringlers that made everyone pucker so much? :)

The drink of choice…a duck fart! I’m not certain I know the ingredients, but I think it is Kahlua, Bailey’s & a whiskey. You should definitely try it sometime if you haven’t ever before. It really isn’t as bad as it looks.

We’ll send you the link to our photos once we get settled. I almost e-mailed you while we were gone to see where I could get that camera of yours! ;-)

Cheers!

Yes…the camera! I hear it takes really nice pictures! I’m never giving mine up, it’s a magic black box. I just hang on and push the button…it’s amazing! :)

You were right on in your description of a “duck fart”. According to a bartenders web site:

1/2 oz Jack Daniel’s® Tennessee whiskey
1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1/2 oz Bailey’s® Irish cream

I wonder what made everyone pucker up so much?

:)

Randy,
Since wedding season was upon you again, I thought I would revisit your blog. Looking forward to seeing the weddings you will be photographing this year and years to come. I just HAD to comment about that shot in front of Everyday Music…fantastic! It’s a total “Keep Portland Weird” photograph.

The Day the General Came to Town

There was excitement in the air as preparations were made to welcome General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His plane was fighting a strong headwind as it flew to Portland, delaying his arrival by an hour. The General was coming to Vancouver, Washington to speak at the General Marshall Lecture. This…

Where or should I say who made the oft stated quote “Some leaders you follow through fire, others you’d like to push”. I first heard this quote in a movie but I’d like to fid out it’s source.

Thanks,
Blessings to you!

Karra and Paul | Crystal Springs Rhododendrun Gardens

There is no question that truth is stranger than fiction. As I get to know my couples and discover their stories, I find connections with other couples I’ve photographed. Many times they are connected and have no idea that their paths have crossed. A perfect example of this 6 degrees of separation is Karra and…

Nice bit of sleuthing there, Randy! The 6 degrees is pretty interesting stuff.
