Today is wedding day for Jerra Lynne and Dan at the Skamania Lodge, located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The weather promises to be interesting, but that’s Fall in the Northwest. Jerra Lynne wanted a Fall harvest theme for her wedding and the day will definitely deliver.

Since they live in California, their time in the Northwest to plan for their wedding was limited. I met them on the coldest day of 2006, in December for their engagement session along the Portland waterfront. I kept joking with Dan that he looked like Vin Diesel and had to keep up the tough guy image, no matter how cold it was that day. And by cold, I mean below freezing. You’d never know by the heat between these two how bitterly cold it was that day.

Today’s ceremony should be very interesting. A blend of Native American and Christian rituals with the Columbia River as the backdrop. The story will continue in a few weeks when I post their images after the wedding. Wherever you are today, take a moment to enjoy the crisp Fall weather. And send me some creative energy.
