Kelsey and Michael
Kelsey and Michael were married October 14th at the Adrianna Hill Ballroom and all I can say is from the moment I walked in, there was laughter and good times. They had a large wedding party and everyone was having a blast. An absolute joy to work with and photograph.
Kelsey had a great attitude, never stressing about anything. She kept saying that all she wanted was her dress to look beautiful; to get married to Michael and have fun. Good thing too because a couple of hems came loose on her dress, which understandably started to stress her out. Luckily Mom was close by with a sewing kit to save the day. Let the party begin! Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding day.
We started the day with the bridal party at the Paramount Hotel in downtown Portland. From the hotel, it was a short walk to the Portland Library for formal photographs and another short walk to the Adrianna Hill Ballroom for the wedding ceremony and reception.

It was a beautiful Fall day and Kelsey looked stunning in her wedding dress. The lighting and colors were perfect on the streets of downtown Portland for her wedding day.

The guys doing what guys do best…drinking and playing with their toys.

Did I mention the number of people in the wedding party? The vibrant flowers and bridesmaids dresses were beautiful and dramatic.

I recently spoke with a woman who reads my blog reguarly and she said my photos were whimsical. This one’s for you…

Dad walking his daughter down the aisle to be married.

Kelsey and Michael dancing together for the first time as husband and wife.

In a rare lapse of reason, I agreed to let one of the groomsmen take my camera (still attached to me with all my cords) and capture this image of Kristen, Kelsey, Michael and I during the reception. There is a reason I like being on the other side of the camera.

I was literally on my way out the door when I walked past Kelsey and Michael sharing an intimate moment outside the reception. It was beautiful and poignant. Quickly unpacking my camera, I captured this image with available light. The perfect ending to a near perfect day.

What a whirlwind. The whole day was a blur, even for me. There was a lot of celebrating and everyone was having a great time. Laughter and toasts and dancing and more laughter. The dessert table was nothing short of amazing. In the end, Kelsey and Michael were married and that’s all that matters.
Congratulations to the friends and family of Kelsey and Michael. Thank you for laughing with me (perhaps at me) and making me feel like a friend of the family. It was an honor to share in your celebration. Best wishes to the newly married couple. I hope you find a lifetime of happiness together.

Randy and Kristen,
WOW, what fabulous pictures, you are so good!!! I love the one with you and Kristen and so glad we have pictures of you two. A friend here in Texas said she felt like she was right there, they are just so striking.
Thank you so much, can’t wait to see them all…

Randy,
Thank you for the wonderful pics of Kelsey and Mike. You were so wonderful to all of us and we enjoyed sharing a perfect day with You and Kristen. You both put in a long day, but never stoped looking for the perfect shot.
Thanks!
Judy
Nice job Randy, nice lighting!
Evrim,
Thanks for stopping in and checking out the photos. I appreciate the comments!

Hi Randy,
So I can’t even tell you how excited Michael and I were to see the pictures. They are fantastic. We were in the internet cafe in our hotel at Cabo next to the bar and I think we showed everyone in there. Then I checked the site 3 times that night just so I could look at them again. I think Michael was concerned I was slightly obsessed. : )
There are a lot of things that don’t always run smoothly in a wedding but you and Kristen were the exception to that. You got countless compliments all night and after the wedding from everyone involved about how great you were. You fit in well, you were able to laugh and have fun with us while capturing great shots.
When other honeymooners we met on our trip were talking about their weddings we couldn’t help but keep raving about how fabulous our photographer was. I think the fact that you saw us on the steps outside the reception and unpacked all your gear again just to get that shot speaks volumes on your passion and how great you are at your job. (Which by the way thanks because we love that picture!)
I would and will recommend you to anyone that needs a photographer. Hopefully we will be able to use you again in the future for something fun.
Thanks,
Kelsey
Kelsey,
Wow! I think it’s so cool that you checked your photos while on your honeymoon in Cabo. I’m glad I decided to post the images within a week of your wedding.
I really appreciate your kind words. It was an honor to be a part of your wedding and I’m not just saying that…the last shot was so perfect. I did hesitate for a moment as I was leaving, but I could not have set it up any better than it was naturally. It was the perfect shot to end the story of your day. (aside from a post wedding shoot in Cabo!)
Have a safe trip home…thanks for stopping by and congratulations!
